Japanese 'robot suit' to help disabled


this suit is called HAL hybrid assistive limb. it has been designed by Cyberdyne Corporation in japan to help the existiting capabilities of the human body.
its light, weighs 23 kg and has a battery pack at the back and computer system.

how it works is interesting, it uses your body's never system, it is strapped to the body and controlled by thought. when you move, signals are sent from the brain to the muscles, and very weak traces of these signals get detected on the surface of the skin. the sensor on in HAL identifies these signals attached to the skin of the user telling the suit to move in unison with the user.

people with disabilities that effect walking such as stroke-induced or spinal cord injuries cab get training with the HAL suit saddly its cost Y220,000 (£1,370) a month.
Cyberdyne Corporation are adding variety to the suit, training and rehabilitation they are adding muscle to heavy labour jobs and rescue and recovery operations.

HAL can carry out everyday tasks for people who struggle such as standing up from a chair, walking, climbing up and down stairs and lifting heaving objects.

looking at these suit is really a movement of are technology in today's world people who have these injuries and struggles don't really have anything they can use. they end up in a wheel chair, but with this every thing is going to change and soon i wouldn't be surprised the word disabled will be replaced cyborg.
