introduction

My introduction into finding out what technology's in games, that are being made in real life, i'm going to focus on the technology that improves the human body. my examples of these technology's in games and even films are the following Bionic Commander, metal gear rising, Crysis, Edge of tomorrow, Robo-cop, these game and films use technology's to make their tasks easier.
high tech devices, robot arms, exoskeletons to a complete robot body, do these things even excited or are they even possible. this is what i want to find out, The game bio commander is a game which the main character has a bionic hand, i'm going to find out if something like this is out there in the real world.

for pacd200

to become a concept artist in the films and game industry. You need to know the industry and what part you fit in the process. which is pre-production.

there isn't a typical route to become a concept artist some people start as graphic designers, illustrates, special or visual effects or animators then they make the transition to a concept artist. You will need these essential skills and knowledge of Photoshop or painter, they must also be conversant with the film directer or the game lead directer, and to be able to create what they are visualizing if working in a professional company you need to be professional like any other job, your work need to be excellent. along with your communication skills.

i have made an online blog and a deviantart page to advertise my work i'm getting more views with every design i post. there is a website called conceptart.org which only focuses on digital art (concept/illustrations). which i will sign up soon i still want to build more work up before i sign up.

you need to draw incessantly, learn the anatomy and prospective. they say to draw 2-4 hours a day more drawing you do better you will become. its handy to be good at everything such as character, environments, weapons and that but usually artist have a specialty. i want to specialties in characters so i need to create a portfolio of your best work. a good sketchbook as being an artist, not just things that you have copied but with you own ideas

jobs for a concept artist is very small, but I was watching FZD with feng zhu a extremely well know concept artist and he said concept artist know where the jobs are.

it is good to try and get a internship in animation because it shows the entire processes in games.
be amazing as a concept artist also have some skills in other fields like animation level design and so on it helps not just to be able to do one thing.

team work is massively important, they are in a team all the time.

when producing some concepts ask questions about the design so for exams what should it look like why is that there, what is it made of, sizes colous. another things that is very important is to have a visual library of reference images you need to be about to draw from life to make something fake other wise people wont be able to relate to the object. get a good book collection of  artist that inspire you. follow your favorite artist and look at their work the composition the style, colouse and ideas they use.

reading is a good idea to get your imagination going.

experience is what compernay always requires they say usually 5 years give or take it is extremely stressful to produce a new idea.

you have to advertise your self, be prepared to do things you aren't keen on designing

religon

Religion and science has always had there disagreements but I think with the this up coming cybernetics the subject is going to get more rowdy.

Norbert wiener talks about in his book (god and Golam, inc A comment on certain points where cybernetics impinges religion)
he says knowledge is inexhaustible intertwined with communication power with control, and the evaluation of human purpose with ethics and the whole normative side of religion. it is hence germane to a revised study of the relation between science and religion. that we should re-examine our ideas of these matter in term of the last development of theory and the practical techniques.

so would religion  have to think of cybernetics not just as science but a way to make man kind better. science is changing and the world with it, cybernetics wont stop nor will religion so will religious people have to bite there tongue as long as cybernetics is doing something good.

Neil Harbisson

carrying on looking at cyborgs I have found Neil Harrison.
he was born with achrimatopsia or extreme colour-blindness, which meant he could only see in black and white.
amazingly is is able to see in colours even beyond the human scope.
Harbisson uses a specialized eletronic eye, and cyborg eye it renders perceived colors as sounds on the musical scale which means using this Eyeborg he is able to hear colour,
hes come so adapted to this device the his brain has even formed new neural pathways to give him a advanced kind of perception.

he is now capable of experiencing colors beyond the scope of normal human perception.

How is this possible? Harbisson is equipped with a specialized electronic eye, or Eyeborg, which renders perceived colors as sounds on the musical scale. In other words, his device allows him to “hear” color. He has become so adapted to this device that his brain has formed new neural pathways that allow him to develop an advanced kind of perception.

argus-retina

he said at the start of using the device he had to memorize the name you give each colour the he had to memorize the notes, but after time he said the information became perception.
he said also he has started to dream in colour, he felt that the software and his brain had united.

"united, to me this word is a key word in this research" connecting technology on to us and even into us the word united comes to play will they become just as important as a natural organ. will people, even healthy people come dependent on these devices.

Kevin Cyborg "I Cyborg"

there is a professor he is the world leader in cybernetics and his name is Kevin warlock from the university of reading.
he fitted machine in his body to be programmed to do different things, this machines will be more intelligent then a human.
humans only understand  3 dimensions and communicate in a very slow, serial fashion called speech, but can technology improve us and we be upgraded.

this really fascinates me, and looking at the possibilities if the technically becomes to exist would I come a cyborg. and how technology is growing so fast will it be the case in the future that it wont be a matter of would but a choice of yes or no?...

HAL Cyberdyne Corporation

Japanese 'robot suit' to help disabled

this suit is called HAL hybrid assistive limb. it has been designed by Cyberdyne Corporation in japan to help the existiting capabilities of the human body.
its light, weighs 23 kg and has a battery pack at the back and computer system.

how it works is interesting, it uses your body's never system, it is strapped to the body and controlled by thought. when you move, signals are sent from the brain to the muscles, and very weak traces of these signals get detected on the surface of the skin. the sensor on in HAL identifies these signals attached to the skin of the user telling the suit to move in unison with the user.

people with disabilities that effect walking such as stroke-induced or spinal cord injuries cab get training with the HAL suit saddly its cost Y220,000 (£1,370) a month.
Cyberdyne Corporation are adding variety to the suit, training and rehabilitation they are adding muscle to heavy labour jobs and rescue and recovery operations.

HAL can carry out everyday tasks for people who struggle such as standing up from a chair, walking, climbing up and down stairs and lifting heaving objects.

looking at these suit is really a movement of are technology in today's world people who have these injuries and struggles don't really have anything they can use. they end up in a wheel chair, but with this every thing is going to change and soon i wouldn't be surprised the word disabled will be replaced cyborg.
